Housing Minister Mark Prisk recently announced that Build to let 'has an important role to play' in the UK housing industry as reported on houseladder.co.uk.
Mr Prisk and Shadow Housing Minister Jack Dromey, spoke at the British Property Federation Residential Conference about the measurements the government has put in place to support the sector.
Build to let supplies the protection of a £10 billion debt guarantee which it is believed will encourage more people to invest in homes for private rent.
Mr Dromey also noted that greater protection for landlords and their tenants should be a requirement for investment rather than a barrier.
He commented on houseladder.co.uk that: "If the private rented sector is to be one of choice it must meet the needs of those living in it not least the 1.1 million families with children.
